🌼 1. Springtime Joys – May Is Here! Early this month, enjoy the sights and sounds of our May music video, celebrating all of the seasonal fun we look forward to in May. The month of May brings longer days, blooming flowers, buzzing bees, and plenty of sunshine.
For preschoolers, it's the perfect time to explore nature—look for new blossoms, jump in puddles, or watch baby birds in the trees. Encourage your little one to notice the changes around them:
“Do you hear more birds singing?”
“Can you smell the flowers blooming?”
“How does the warm sun feel on your face?”
Spring invites curiosity, movement, and wonder—all essential parts of early learning!
🎵 2. The Magic of LullabiesWonder Woods lullaby playlist is growing. Did you know that lullabies are more than just sweet songs at bedtime? They help little ones:
Feel calm and secure
Build listening skills
Strengthen memory and language
Soft, repetitive melodies help regulate emotions and ease children into restful sleep. Lullabies can make bedtime a bonding moment full of comfort and trust.
🌙 Tip: Try singing the same lullaby every night—like a cozy bedtime tradition that helps signal “it’s time to rest.”
🚣♀️ 3. Rhymes That Help Us GrowLook out for our upcoming nursery rhyme short: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" It isn’t just catchy—it’s a learning tool!
Rhyming songs help preschoolers:
Recognize sound patterns
Practice memory
Build language and pre-reading skills
Next time you sing “Row, row, row your boat…,” invite your child to gently rock, sway, or even row along—it makes learning playful and fun!
🎤 Want to mix it up? Try making your own verses or silly rhymes together—great for creativity and giggles!
🔺 4. Shapes Are All Around!
Later this month at Nature School go on a shape hunt in nature with us!Then take your little explorer outside to help your child discover:
🌕 Circles in flower centers
🔺 Triangles in pine trees
🟩 Rectangles in garden beds
💧 Ovals in pebbles and puddles
Recognizing shapes builds early math and visual skills—and noticing them outdoors turns everyday walks into adventures!
🌿 Try: “Can you find a circle in the garden?” or “How many triangles do you see on that leaf?”
🌍 5. Nature Knows Best – Let’s Explore! With Daily Discoveries we learn more about the magic of the outdoors! Spending time in nature helps children:
Boost focus and creativity
Grow their sense of wonder
Learn how all living things are connected
Fun fact for kids: Ants can carry things 50 times their own weight! 🐜💪 That’s like you carrying a car!Exploring nature helps us ask questions, notice details, and learn how to care for the world we live in.
Whether it's a backyard, a park, or a potted plant, there's always something amazing to discover.
🍃 Until Next Time…
Keep singing, exploring, and looking for shapes in the world around you. This month, celebrate the magic of May by going outside, sharing a lullaby, and rowing your imaginations down a gentle, dreamy stream.
From all of us at Wonder Woods, happy learning—and happy spring! 🌸🧡
